Unapologetically Christian - Academically Excellent
Over twenty years ago the vision of Pastor Charles Redmond and First Baptist Church was born when the doors of First Baptist Christian Academy opened to 45 Pre-K through 2nd grade students and five teachers in August of 1993. Sharing church facilities on Pasadena Blvd., the academy continued to add grade levels and students. FBCA has been an accredited member of the Association of Christian School International since 1995. Our first graduating class received their diplomas in May of 2003. Many things have changed since those early days, but our commitment to academic excellence and Christ has remained firm.
Currently we are located at the intersections of Fairmont Parkway, Center Street and Red Bluff Road. FBCA now hosts near 500 students. Baseball, softball and football fields, a 15,000 square foot gymnasium, and a state of the art science lab have been added to the class and lunchroom facilities shared with the church. Over the next five years we anticipate to increase our school enrollment to 700.
FBCA is currently constructing dedicated classroom space for both elementary and secondary students on the southeast corner of the church property. The proposed buildings will include a music suite, additional science lab, computer lab as well as classroom space. God is leading us into the future in order to touch the lives of students and families in our community and beyond.

The educational philosophy of First Baptist Christian Academy is based on the Christian world view which is derived from truths as found in the Christian faith. This faith flows from the infallible, inerrant (Psalm 19:7), and inspired Word of God. The Bible is the authoritative, reliable and final source of truth. (II Timothy 3:16-17, John 17:17
It is our belief that God not only created all things (Genesis 1:1), but He sustains and consummates all things through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:16-17). Therefore, the universe and all life are dynamically related to Him and have the purpose of glorifying Him. (Revelation 4:11)
Man is created in God’s image, (Genesis 1:27) and for this reason he has infinite worth. Man is a sinner by nature (Romans 3:23) and by choice because of the fall of Adam (Romans 5:12) and is separated from God. His sin nature and separation from God make him incapable of knowing or glorifying God (Romans 3:10-11) apart from a work of reconciliation by God through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Man can be reconciled to God only by being born again through receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord by faith. (Romans 5:10)
The most effective way education can be accomplished is in an environment which recognizes that all truth is God’s truth (Psalm1, Deuteronomy 32:4). The foundation of all wisdom and knowledge begins with the fear of the Lord (Proverb 9:10), and only a redeemed person can completely comprehend truth as the Holy Spirit reveals it to him (John 16:7-8, I Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, in the curricula, emphasis is placed on the unity of all truth (John 14:16) and on the development of an eternal perspective for life. (Romans 14:12)
The Bible clearly teaches that parents are responsible for their children’s education and discipline (Deuteronomy 6:7, Ephesians 6:4).
First Baptist Christian Academy is not a substitute for the home, but serves as an extension of the home and one means through which parents fulfill the responsibility the Lord has given them.
