FBCA is looking forward to preparing boxes for Operation Christmas Child (a project of Samaritan’s Purse). Franklin Graham (president of Samaritan’s Purse) says, “Every shoebox gift is an opportunity to touch a child’s heart and share the love of Jesus Christ.” These boxes will go to children all over the world. They will bring Christmas to many children that would have otherwise been without. The boxes will also include tracts in their language telling the children about Jesus and how he died for their sins. The children can attend a discipleship class where they can learn more about life as a Christian. The boxes are given out in cooperation with the local churches and missionaries so they can follow up and help the children learn more about God. These opportunities for the students to share of themselves and share the gospel are invaluable.
Your child’s teacher or grade will be sending out more details about how they would like to participate as a class. Please keep your eyes open and your hearts ready to serve. Later, there will be more information that will give you more details of what to include in the boxes. Any shoe box can be used. Plastic, store bought, shoe boxes are nice because the receiving child will have a durable container in which to keep their things. The boxes will be due November 15th.
Contact Mrs. Ubernosky at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
